A new beginning

I’ve quit my job.

Sounds quite dramatic, eh?

Don’t worry, I didn’t yell at my boss and slam the door on the way out.

Nope, it is much more simple. I just couldn’t tell you before now.

Why?

It is something I have thought long and hard over. I’ve been really happy for my now former job as a project manager at Tric Solutions. I was given a lot of responsibility, no two days were the same and had some fantastic colleagues. We were a really close-knit team with a good chemistry between all of us.

But as I started to think further ahead career wise and looking at where I wanted to be in 5 or 10 years time, it was pretty clear I needed more experience in project management. More specifically with large projects in big companies.

Tric Solutions have always been a small and agile company, which have been a big advantage for us. We’ve been able to move quickly and get things done. But our size have also been a limiting factor in the projects we’ve been able to take in and the customers we attract. As you can see, something had to change if I wanted to get the experience and knowhow I needed.

What now?

My new job is at Telenor as a technical project manager.

I’m going to be responsible for implementing a new enterprise data warehouse system. So it is something totally different from the e-commerce world I’ve been living in for the past 3 years. Not that I’m afraid of it – Ok, maybe a little, but I didn’t know anything about Magento or e-commerce before I started at Tric, so I’m pretty sure I’ll manage this too.

However, one thing is sure. It is going to be a pretty exciting adventure that I’m really looking forward to.
