Last week I passed the first exam in my PRINCE2 course. That means I now have a PRINCE2 Foundation certification. For life.
The exam was a selection of multiple choice questions where you had to get at least 50% right to pass. No big deal, as I got close to 90% correct. The questions weren’t that difficult per se when you get down to it. Some of them had a strange wording though, where it was kinda hard to figure out what they actually was asking for.
All the other guys on the course also passed, so everybody was happy. Now I’m in for a Practitioner certification and I can already say it is much more difficult than the foundation (surprise surprise). Instead of multiple choice we now have to compare statements and reasons and see if they are right or wrong, just to give an example. And then we got the exam itself, where we have a solid 2,5 hour, instead of just a single hour for the foundation.
All in all I’m pretty satisfied with the course. I have learned a lot of tools regarding project management and especially the framework PRINCE2 provides have helped me a lot. It have been nice to explore the theory and see where it fits into project management. Now I just have to find a company where I can use some of all the stuff I have learned.
