So, I’ve started on a PRINCE2 course with the aim of getting a certification as a sanctified PRINCE2 practitioner. It’s a course I have been looking forward to, as I want to expand my skills in project management.
To actually start on the course took me jumping through some hoops. As I’m currently on unemployment benefits I’m allowed up to 6 weeks of self-elected training. BUT, as I found out, I’m too highly educated to actually benefit from it automatically. So I had to apply for it and had to among other things, provide a good reason for why I should be allowed to start on the course.
In the end I got the grant, which I’m very grateful for. The course itself costs around 25k kroner, which I simply do not have laying around. So yeah, very grateful indeed.
Regarding the course it’s a lot of self-study combined with some e-learning and some workshops here and there. I found it enjoyable so far, but it is a lot more dense than I initially thought. Lots of terms you have to remember and some of them doesn’t even make sense yet. Hopefully it’ll come as I’m barely a week into the course.
We have our first workshop on Thursday which I’m looking forward to. Mainly because I get to meet the other participants but also because I can get some answers to some of my questions and hopefully be able to connect those famous dots.
